« All communications from the staff were timely and easy to understand, considering there is nobody physically on-site, it took a second to understand. The rooms were clean and neatly kept, with every amenity one could ask for. The best part was the proximity to downtown Port Austin, less than a 5 min drive and you’re where you want to be. I would highly recommend staying at the Sun and Sand, I know we will when we venture back! »

« We stayed here over the Fourth of July weekend because it was one of the few places available near Port Austin, and for that purpose it worked. The rooms definitely need updating, especially the carpet, which made the room feel worn. The first night there was a strong stale cigarette smell, although it noticeably improved by the second day. « Check-in was quick, staff was helpful. I would have liked to have known ahead of time that 3% was added for credit card payment; would have brought a check or cash. (If there was something in the listing about this I missed it.) The room (#7)--everything that could be cleaned was spotless, however the carpeting in the bed area was stained and gross. I'm sure it was vacuumed but but it looked dirty. The "closet" in the bed area was unfinished with pipes going through with unpainted dry wall. But...

« Pictures are old...some items not on property per photos. Deck boards rotten, lots of weeds and not trimed as if someone took care of weekly. Owner passed along all contact to someone that is ver irresponsible to take care of needs, and not call or text back when told thry would and best way to contact them.For the price this efficiency is way over priced...beach area very nice... »

« Perfect location for our one night stay in Port Austin. My family was really happy that I chose this cute little home in town. Great host and nice decorations.
